"Afternoon
at Scotshall Lane"
26
November 2009
A short
film remembering a sunny Figaro afternoon in the country.
This
rapid-stop-motion animated performance was shot on a Canon IXUS
75 using its continuous-shot mode, mounted on a Konig heavy duty
tripod. I can capture footage at about 1 frame per second with these
ISO and exposure settings.
This
low frame rate of capture encourages me to think like an animator
when filming; practicing spacing & timing, planning eases or
easing on the fly, trying to "act" out key poses and over-acting
some movements to have the motion read better.
For
the most part the image sequences are played back at 8 frames per
second.
